Senior Laboratory Operations Associate
Job Description Summary
In this role, you will provide advanced technical and operational support to ensure our R&D laboratories operate in alignment with global standards. You will contribute to core programs such as laboratory training, inventory control and housekeeping to enable scientific user groups to work in optimized lab environments. Additionally, you will support lab planning, equipment lifecycle support and risk mitigation through collaboration with cross-functional teams and scientific staff.Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
Delivers and continuously improves standardized Laboratory Operations programs including training, safety, housekeeping, quality and sustainability to ensure operational compliance and efficiency
Tracks and manages inventory of laboratory materials and consumables; supports procurement, preventative maintenance, and equipment troubleshooting to sustain daily lab operations
Collaborates with scientific user groups and cross-functional partners to define lab space requirements, support operational projects and maintain documentation standards
Identifies and mitigates operational risks and non-conformances; partners with Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) to ensure adherence to safe work procedures and regulatory expectations
Applies technical knowledge to support new and ongoing lab-based work while contributing to capital planning processes and optimization initiatives
Knowledge and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or a related discipline with 2–6 years’ experience, or a Master’s degree in life sciences or a related discipline with up to 4 years experience; minimum 3 years of relevant laboratory operations experience
Strong knowledge of lab safety, operations and equipment with familiarity in project or change management principles
Experience with laboratory techniques such as flow cytometry, microscopy, or understanding ethical considerations in animal/human research is an asset
Demonstrates analytical and critical thinking to solve problems, communicates effectively across technical and non-technical teams, and supports process improvements and training initiatives
Manages time and priorities efficiently while collaborating seamlessly across teams and scientific user groups

The annual salary for this job ranges from:
$71,200.00 - $96,400.00STEMCELL determines an individual’s pay within the range based on multiple factors including experience, education, job-related skills, and equity within the team or organization. For jobs that are eligible for sales incentives, the range noted above is inclusive of target incentives; actual incentives are based on individual performance results in accordance with company policy. In addition to base salary, STEMCELL offers a comprehensive total rewards package including health benefits, retirement savings, and more.
