Recruitment Fraud Alert

STEMCELL Technologies has become aware of a scam wherein somebody is offering remote job opportunities, posing as STEMCELL Hiring Management during interviews, then providing fraudulent employee agreements and checks. We have reported this criminal activity to the appropriate authorities and our online security team is working hard to ensure that it is dealt with. Please be advised that all legitimate employment opportunities at STEMCELL, including any jobs advertised on third party sites such as Glassdoor, Indeed, LinkedIn, or other local job boards will also be posted at jobs.stemcell.com, and any employment applications must be submitted directly to STEMCELL Technologies through that site. Further, all email correspondence with STEMCELL will be through an official "@stemcell.com" email address - you will never receive an email from STEMCELL via gmail or any other email domain. If you have seen a questionable employment posting or would like to verify whether a posting is valid, please contact hr@stemcell.com. Hiring Process

At STEMCELL, our goal is to hire the best possible person for every role. Our application process is specifically designed to allow both the applicant and STEMCELL to make an informed decision on whether a given opportunity will be mutually beneficial for a candidate's career interests and the company's business needs.

Step 1: Applications

Once you have reviewed our postings and selected the position(s) you wish to apply for, please create an online profile and complete our short application form. This includes submission of relevant documents, such as a cover letter, CV, samples of previous work, etc. To ensure a smooth process, please include any relevant details, such as work permit information, your available start date (including notice required by your previous employer), and your salary expectations.

If you are an internal candidate looking at pursuing a new position within STEMCELL, please apply through your Workday account.

Step 2: Interviews

Upon initial review of your application, if your skills and experience meet the criteria for the position, we will contact you to discuss your expertise and provide more details about the opportunity. Interviews may take place over the phone, in-person, and through other means as appropriate for each position.

Step 3: References

STEMCELL will ask you to provide contact information and approval for us to contact several professional references to discuss your previous work experience and performance. Please note that some positions require additional information, such as background checks. We will advise you of this ahead of time and provide any forms required.

Step 4: Offer

Should you be selected for a role at STEMCELL, we will extend a written offer of employment. Any information you may require to start your new career will be provided upon acceptance of your offer.

Immigration and Relocation Support

Generally, all candidates must be legally entitled to work in the country in which the posted job is based. Evidence of citizenship or appropriate work permit or visa must be provided at the time of offer acceptance.

STEMCELL may provide immigration and/or relocation support to attract highly specialized candidates, and may apply for company-sponsored work permits or visas for selected candidates.

We work with universities across Canada to offer over 100 Co-op roles throughout the year.

FAQs for Co-op Students

How can I find out what Co-op positions are available?

STEMCELL has three Co-op intake cycles per year: January, May and September. Check your university’s job website approximately 6 months before you wish to start your Co-op term. If STEMCELL jobs are not posted on your institution’s jobs board, please email us at coop@stemcell.com and we’ll be sure to reach out to your university’s Co-op office to share our postings. Instructions on how to apply are included in all of our job postings on your university’s job site. You will be asked to create an account and apply with your CV, cover letter, and transcript.

What are the eligibility criteria for Co-op?

Applicants must be enrolled in the Co-op program at their university and be available for a minimum of an 8-month Co-op term.

How long are Co-op terms?

Most Co-op terms are 8 months minimum, with some positions offering a 12-month term. A student can be employed for more than one Co-op term at STEMCELL in different roles.

Are Co-op positions paid?

Yes, Co-op students are paid hourly. We keep up-to-date with market trends for competitive wages for our Co-op program.

What types of Co-op roles do you offer?

Co-op positions are split into two main groups: lab-based roles and non-lab-based roles. Our lab-based Co-op positions are project-based and usually sit within our Research and Development, Process Development, and Quality Control Departments. Our non-lab-based roles assist in other areas of the business, including Marketing, Sales, and Lab Services.

Do you ever hire Co-op students for full time positions?

Absolutely! Gaining relevant work experience through a Co-op program is an excellent way to set your CV apart. We make an effort to keep in touch with our Co-op students when they are nearing graduation to explore suitable opportunities for full time employment at STEMCELL.
