Senior Laboratory Operations Assistant
Job Description Summary
In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the efficient operation of laboratory and manufacturing environments by executing core operational support functions. You will contribute to STEMCELL's production and research goals by following standard procedures and quality requirements to prepare materials, maintain equipment, manage supplies, and help maintain regulatory compliance in various workplace settings.We are currently recruiting for two permanent, full-time roles. Both positions will require flexibility to work from our Station Street, West 7th, or Burnaby offices, depending on business needs.
Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for the daily lab waste management, including recycling, disposal and decontamination of waste
Set up, handle, and operate production and laboratory equipment
Operate autoclaves to prepare sterile materials, reagents, and equipment
Ensure that operations and maintenance are conducted in accordance with STEMCELL's Quality Management Systems (QMS), including ISO13485 documentation deficiencies and non-conformances, and complete reports as required
Monitor and maintain daily inventory of supplies; adhere to and contribute to promoting a high level of safety within the lab and building environments
Knowledge and Qualifications
Post-secondary certificate or diploma in trade or technology
1–3 years of relevant experience in facilities operations and/or laboratory support services
Experience in a biotechnology or regulated industry is preferred
Customer-focused mindset with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel) with the ability to learn new programs, and first aid and safety knowledge are an asset

The annual salary for this job ranges from:
$58,500.00 - $79,100.00STEMCELL determines an individual’s pay within the range based on multiple factors including experience, education, job-related skills, and equity within the team or organization. For jobs that are eligible for sales incentives, the range noted above is inclusive of target incentives; actual incentives are based on individual performance results in accordance with company policy. In addition to base salary, STEMCELL offers a comprehensive total rewards package including health benefits, retirement savings, and more.
