Senior Lab Associate
Job Description SummaryDo you want to apply your laboratory background and collaboration skills to support the fast paced environment of research & development? As a Senior Lab Associate, you will be integral to the training and hands-on support of our researchers at all levels providing safety training, coordinating equipment maintenance and installation, ordering and maintaining inventories of lab supplies, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the Research & Development (R&D) department. Duties and Responsibilities
Perform and troubleshoot standard life science laboratory equipment, and recommend and implement technical best practices to lab staff
Coordinate and collaborate with internal stakeholders, communicate updates to R&D lab staff, and implement policies to ensure compliance
Facilitate equipment operation and technical safety training for researchers across the department
Help maintain lab supplies (including reagents) and operations to ensure a safe and functional lab environment
Knowledge and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 1-3 years relevant experience in the life sciences field
Knowledge of lab techniques such as cell culture, flow cytometry, microscopy, animal handling and/or general molecular biology
Ability to work independently and function in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Experience with laboratory safety training and first aid certification is highly desirable
Strong communication, project management, and organizational skills is an asset
