Job Description Summary

The Distribution Planner will work with the Supply Chain team to prioritize requirements for the distribution of finished products to meet demand. The distribution planner will manage one or several of our international locations and will work and maintain our planning system. One of the main tasks will be to allocate the inventory to each location based on their respective demand and stock level to keep our inventory balanced.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure there is an optimal amount of inventory at each Distribution Center to support the sale of products to STEMCELL’s customers by using our ERP SAP in combination with Demand Driven MRP Software, R+.

• Share ‘best practice’ knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, procedures, and quality system requirements within the planning and supply chain function.

• Collaborate and work with Supply Chain teams to efficiently integrate changes in demand into production plans

• Work with various departments to effectively and efficiently align supply and demand.

• Actively review all open orders to ensure backorders are promptly acted on and fulfilled, driving customer excellence and achievement of the company’s objectives.

• Analyze and report on inventory risks.

• Will work closely with Supply Chain Planners to determine and maintain appropriate inventory levels and safety stock 

• Participate on operational teams dealing with new product introduction and changes to existing products and meeting deliverables by assigned deadlines 

• Identify opportunities for process improvement 

• Represents planning in product strategy/update meetings by providing inventory analysis or expert feedback on the subject matter.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of DDMRP (Demand Driven MRP) systems, such as R+ is an asset.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or operation management 

• At least 3 years of Procurement or planning experience in a production environment. Work experience should demonstrate a progression of responsibilities and knowledge 

• ERP/MRP system experience (familiarity with DDMRP concepts and practice a plus) 

• Strong analytical skills 

• Team player with the ability to contribute within procurement and on cross-functional teams 

• Excellent verbal and written communication
