Job Description Summary
Are you a data management professional with experience in Data Architecture and Data Lifecycle Management looking to join the largest biotech company in Canada? As the Data Management Architect, you will lead the design, implementation, and support of data management solutions that deliver needed structure, data flow, access, and data consistency across the information systems.The Data Management Architect will champion building and maintaining an effective data architecture management practice at STEMCELL, interacting with business analysts, data owners, data management, and IT professionals. You will create the enterprise data model, and contribute to software implementation projects and the continuous improvement process.
Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
Participate in projects to create data-related deliverables and/or review blueprints and solution design documents created by project teams
Assess existing data and business needs, collect, interpret, and document business requirements for data structure, integration, and data lifecycle management
Lead the adoption of data architecture standards and notations, maintain corporate-level data architecture artifacts, e.g. Enterprise Data Model, design data architecture management policies, standards, and guidelines
Design and implement improvements in data models, data flow, data entry procedures, access control, and data maintenance
Register and track data-related problems in the Data Issue Log, review and prioritize resolving data issues and technical debt
Knowledge and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of relevant experience
Has a deep understanding of Enterprise Data Architecture concepts and artifacts
Required experience in applying data architecture descriptive languages and notations
Must have experience in Data Architecture, Data Modelling, and Data Integration
Desirable leadership experience in delivering data management solutions (e.g. Metadata, Master Data Management or Data Quality)
