Recruitment Fraud Alert

Job Description Summary

Our Procurement team is growing, and we need someone who is proactive, analytical and collaborative to join this dynamic and innovative biotech environment and help us help scientists advance their medical research.

Reporting to one of our Category Managers, the Associate Category Manager is responsible for assisting with Procurement activities pertaining to the consumables and packaging portfolios. You will develop in-depth knowledge of markets, suppliers and products while working with external and internal stakeholders to maximize value and mitigate risk. You will work on exciting company projects and use your excellent communication skills to negotiate with suppliers and provide technical input in cross-functional initiatives.

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in contract negotiations, supply agreement development, contract execution and management
  • Assist with RFx processes from creation to completion to generate and analyze multiple competitive bids
  • Follow supplier relationship management principles for key suppliers; attend internal and supplier-facing business reviews to monitor supplier spend and performance, and identify improvement opportunities
  • Compile, analyze and trends Procurement-related / supplier data from various sources including SAP using Excel/Google Sheets, BI tools, etc. 
  • Build reports to present their data analysis showing metrics, trends and areas of issues
  • Build the data model framework for identifying key suppliers for future segmentation 
  • Maintain external reports like Quality complaints, OFIs and create ad-hoc analysis reports for external inquiries on behalf of Procurement 
  • Participate in stakeholder engagement, requirements gathering, consensus building and presentation of proposed solutions to the business
  • Work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to standardize packaging and indirect purchases

Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree with 5+ years of relevant experience in procurement or supply chain discipline
  • Strong business analytical skills and comfort with identifying data needs and sources to support procurement, and contract administration
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite or Google Workspace, familiar with ERP software (SAP preferred) and Demand Driven MRP 
  • Exposure to ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 quality management systems and cGMPs is an asset 
  • Team player and strong collaborator with a growth mindset, and able to stay calm and focused in high-pressure situations
