Job Description Summary
The Manager, Building Systems, is accountable for managing "base" building infrastructure work at the designated facility, including supporting the execution of planned shutdowns, where required, thus ensuring the facility is safe, clean, reliable and in an optimal working environment. The role collaborates with key stakeholders in reliability, maintenance execution, manufacturing/operations, research & development, and supply chain departments to coordinate and lead execution of building/facility infrastructure to meet safety, equipment availability, quality and cost objectives of the organization. The position will provide leadership to a group of building systems specialists, associates and assistants, where required, to meet the objectives of his/her assigned responsibilities.Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
Manages the maintenance program activities including but not limited to: inspecting, monitoring and maintaining the facility according to the maintenance program specifications
Collaborate with user groups and Quality Control/Assurance teams to ensure facility programs are aligned with STEMCELL’s standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Coordinate and/or execute planned & scheduled maintenance with user groups and contractors, including working during non-business hours when required to minimize operation downtime
Leads, directs and reviews the work of team members (will vary based on facility scope/complexity) through providing active coaching, mentorship and conducting regular performance reviews of team members to improve performance
Knowledge and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or Technologist Diploma
Certified Engineering Technologist, Facility Management Certification and/or CMRP designation
10+ years of experience in a similar/comparable role or in an industrial environment
Technical Knowledge (equipment performance & maintenance requirements)
Reliability & Work Control Knowledge (Planning/Scheduling & Reliability Principles)
Asset Management (ISO55001) and cGMP/GLP knowledge (ISO13485) & Quality Management (ISO9001)
Experience leading a team and focusing on coaching/mentoring, performance management, succession planning
Strategic focus, business planning, goal setting, etc.
Strong communication
Safety oriented, First Aid / Safety knowledge
