Building Systems Specialist
Job Description Summary
As the Building Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the operation, repair, maintenance, and optimization of STEMCELL’s building infrastructure and systems. You will work as the primary point of contact for building infrastructure and equipment operation and be certified to operate equipment and processes that are regulated by the BC Boiler and Pressure Vessel Regulation.In this role, you will act as a liaison that engages our internal key partners including our facilities team and the business, while ultimately ensuring the safe and effective operation of our building facilities.
Please note this role may require after-hours support for facility emergencies.
Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
Execute operation and maintenance activities including but not limited to: inspecting, monitoring and maintaining the facility according to the operations and maintenance program specifications and timely record of all work performed on controlled documentation and CMMS. Building-related operations include clean room operation and maintenance of purified water systems, compressed gas systems, compressors, boilers, exhaust fans, chillers, pumps, HVAC systems and accessories
Coordinate and/or execute scheduled maintenance work and repair with user groups and contractors, including working during non-business hours when required to minimize operation downtime
Ensure that building-related operations and maintenance are conducted in accordance with STEMCELL's Quality Management System (QMS), including ISO13485 and good manufacturing practices (GMP). Execute and document commissioning and qualification activities. Document deficiencies and conformances and complete reports as required
Adhere to and contribute to promoting a high level of safety and compliance within the lab, manufacturing and building environments. Drive continuous improvements on processes and systems, improving efficiency while meeting regulatory requirements
Assist in building systems related operational / capital projects and cross-functional projects and/or programs as required
Knowledge and Qualifications
You have Bachelors in Mechanical or Electrical Electrical engineering.and 3+ years of industry experience or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical field and 5+ years of industry experience
4th Class Power Engineering Certificate with 1 to 3 years of experience is an asset and experience in a Biotech or GMP facility operations of building systems is preferred
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) with the ability to learn new programs as required
Highly organized with strong time management and documentation skills with a safety oriented mindset
Team orientated and self-motivated to work independently with strong attention to detail

The annual base salary for this job ranges from:
$81,700.00 - $122,500.00STEMCELL determines an individual’s pay within the range based on multiple factors including experience, education, job-related skills, and equity within the team or organization. For jobs that are eligible for sales incentives, the range noted above is inclusive of target incentives; actual incentives are based on individual performance results in accordance with company policy. In addition to base salary, STEMCELL offers a comprehensive total rewards package including health benefits, retirement savings, and more.
