Job Description Summary

Use your analytical sciences knowledge and management experience to drive innovation as a Senior Manager of the Analytical Development and Services (ADS) team at STEMCELL Technologies! As a Senior Manager, ADS, you will lead an interdisciplinary team, and collaborate with stakeholders across the business to develop strategies to build knowledge and drive the characterization of critical quality attributes of STEMCELL’s diverse product portfolio. You’ll manage a team of Associates, Scientists, and Managers, and oversee the coordination and management of cross functional analytical development projects related to product quality. STEMCELL is committed to continuous improvement and innovative scientific research, and in this role you will contribute to the conceptualization and development of analytical techniques at the frontier of recombinant protein and nanoparticle characterization to support the entire lifecycle of STEMCELL’s products.

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee the operations of the ADS team, including managing project timelines and analytical deliverables, assigning priorities, resource planning, and identifying training needs

• Contribute proactively to the conceptualization of new strategic directions in the analytical field to support the entire lifecycle of STEMCELL products

• Lead the development and implementation of innovative techniques and strategies for testing and characterizing STEMCELL products

• Collaborate with subject matter experts across the business (i.e. Research and Development, Technical Operations, Regulatory Affairs, and Quality, and other departments as needed) to ensure that rigorous scientific, technical, and product quality expectations are achieved

• Provide recommendations on development strategies including formulation design, product storage conditions, material compatibility, and qualification criteria using the results of multidisciplinary product development studies

Knowledge and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or another relevant field

• Minimum of 10 years of analytical development experience for liquid formulations and raw materials

• At least 3 years of people management experience

• Experience with analytical development for Quality Systems within a regulated manufacturing environment (e.g. pharmaceuticals, biotechnology) is strongly desired

• Experience with analytical characterization of complex biological solutions, biological raw materials, and magnetic particles is an asset
