Job Description Summary
STEMCELL, Canada’s largest biotech company is looking for an experienced metadata management professional. The Senior Data Governance & Metadata Management Analyst will design, implement, and support metadata management solutions to collect, structure, and deliver information on data in technical and business contexts.As the Senior Data Governance & Metadata Management Analyst, you will champion building and maintaining an effective metadata management practice at STEMCELL, creating a metadata repository, establishing a metadata management process, and implementing metadata management software.
Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
Lead the adoption of metadata management software and practice, design and implement improvements of metadata repository, metadata management process, and workflow
Work with data owners in developing data-related business rules, terms, and definitions and maintain this metadata to keep it up to date reviews metadata artifacts, and make recommendations on their improvements
Design data management processes and procedures, their roles and responsibilities, and define metrics to demonstrate the metadata management efficiency and its impact on business outcomes
Configure metadata management software and work with IT to enhance it or resolve any issues, as well as ensure related Helpdesk tickets are resolved in a timely manner
Lead and execute operational metadata management duties to monitor and control the metadata management process, and maintain documentation and training materials
Knowledge and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of relevant experience
Has a deep understanding of Metadata Management methodologies and best practices
Required experience with Metadata Management, Data Governance, and data catalogs
Must have experience in the implementation of metadata management software
Desirable leadership experience in delivering data management solutions (e.g. Metadata, Master Data Management, or Data Quality)
