Job Description SummarySTEMCELL is looking for a highly motivated, independent scientist interested in an alternative to the traditional academic career path. Working within our contract assay services team, you’ll use your technical knowledge to develop effective and novel assays that meet our client’s needs and advance scientific discovery. Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Scientific Experts/Product Scientists, and others within STEMCELL during protocol development for new products and applications to optimize design, evaluate new equipment and technologies, and improve assay efficiency
Use relevant scientific fields of expertise to evaluate requirements and develop novel assays and platforms to successfully meet client’s specifications
In collaboration with Senior team members, create new product proposal submissions, develop assay development plans and timelines, and outline required resources (reagents, instrumentation, etc)
Present results of projects at team meetings, internal cross-functional meetings and external meetings or conferences, as required
Establish a small team and develop personal leadership management skills
PhD with 0-4 years or MSc with 5-10 years of experience in Cell Biology, Stem Cell Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Biological Chemistry, Pharmacology, or a related field
Industrial and complex assay development experience and working knowledge of the Contract Assay field strongly preferred
Experience with advanced human cell culture with primary, human iPS or ES cells, and/or 3D organoid systems is required, additional knowledge in high throughput assays and standard laboratory techniques and instrumentation is a valuable asset
Ability to work independently and function in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Strong communication (verbal, written, presentation), project and time management, and organizational skills required
