STEMCELL Technologies has become aware of a scam wherein somebody is offering remote job opportunities, posing as STEMCELL Hiring Management during interviews, then providing fraudulent employee agreements and checks. We have reported this criminal activity to the appropriate authorities and our online security team is working hard to ensure that it is dealt with. Job Description Summary

The Education & Product and Scientific Support department directly supports STEMCELL’s motto of ‘Scientists Helping Scientists’ by providing troubleshooting advice and educational support on the STEMCELL product portfolio to our global customer base and sales staff. This role is ideal for someone who wants to use skills developed at the bench to analyze data, troubleshoot experiments, and help others with their research. You must be a master multi-tasker with excellent communication abilities, an upbeat attitude, and an eye for detail. We are looking for someone with a broad base of scientific research skills, particularly someone with extensive cell culture experience. These skills will be used to define and communicate solutions by phone, email, and chat and to develop training videos, technical tips, and educational tools.

A Product and Scientific Support Representative provides product and scientific support to new and existing customers, as well as distributors and sales staff. This includes receiving and investigating basic product complaints. This position is responsible for maintaining the highest standard of customer service.

Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide support to general customer inquiries.       

  • Work within a departmental functional team to provide product and scientific support to new and existing customers, as well as distributors and Sales staff.

  • Ensure customer requirements are accurately and promptly met by adhering to the business service level agreement and maintaining the highest standard of customer service.

  • Maintain timely and accurate communication records in a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database.

  • Responsible for departmental meeting minutes.

  • May act as the Project Team Coordinator for the development of customer-facing Tech Tips and Protocols.

  • Assist in administering departmental platforms (eg. Confluence, Salesforce, LiveChat) and process optimization projects.

  • May design and/or deliver training programs for non-technical audiences.

  • Assist Scientific Support Subject Matter Experts to compile and analyze data sets.

  • May collaborate within a cross-departmental functional team to represent customer needs for specific product line(s) in the STEMCELL portfolio.

  • May assist with the delivery of training on PSS processes and operations to newly hired PSS Representatives.

  • Execute ad-hoc projects as determined by the manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of work experience or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 1-year work experience or a Ph.D. with no work experience in life sciences.

  • Experience as a client service representative or within a research environment or biotechnology company would be an asset.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of mammalian cell culture theory is required.

  • Flow cytometry and cell separation experience would be an asset.

  • Proficiency in Molecular biology techniques and fundamentals (e.g. CRISPR genome editing) would be an asset.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong time management, multitasking, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage regular interruptions to work-flow.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a dynamic team.

  • Ability to explain product and scientific information to both experts and non-experts alike.

  • Experience working with collaborative platforms such as Google Suite, Salesforce, and/or Confluence would be preferred.
