Project Manager, Operations
Job Description SummaryThe Project Manager, Operations manages the execution of Projects led by the Operations Department. This role is an integral part of the Operations Project Management Office and aligns with the corporate and departmental Project Management Offices at STEMCELL, ensuring that best practices are shared and implemented across the organization. The Project Manager, Operations will work on a diversity of projects, with particular focus on product technology transfer to higher regulatory compliance, upscaling of manufacturing & supply chain operations, and overall process improvement projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manages all phases of departmental projects while applying consistent project management methodology and best practices, and adhering to budget, scope and schedule requirements
Collaborates with Sponsors and Senior Management to determine and clarify project scope, priority and resource allocation for new and ongoing projects
Leads project team meetings, develops adequate schedules, budgets, and resource plans needed to deliver projects
Provides clear, effective and appropriate communications to different audiences across the organization (up, down and across)
Deploys project tools as appropriate, including: work breakdown structures, risk plans/registers, decision logs, Gantt charts, dependency charts, meeting minutes, action logs etc.
Provides leadership and guidance to project coordinators, and technical subject matter experts operating in project manager roles
Enables subject matter experts and potential sponsors to prepare business cases and gain approval and priority for new projects by engaging with departmental processes and rhythms
Seeks opportunities for team alignment by collaborating, motivating, consensus building and influencing project team members
Proactively facilitates engagement of stakeholders, identifies opportunities for project information sharing and communication, and prepares teams for change.
Generates continuous improvement ideas or activities to identify efficiencies, improve processes, and reduce costs
Leading, coaching, developing colleagues in project management
Bachelor’s degree (as a minimum) in a scientific discipline.
5 years experience working on cross functional projects, 2 (at minimum) of which should be in a project management role.
Knowledge or background in PMI based project management: formal or self-taught
Well organized, excellent written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
Advanced knowledge of Google and MS Office suite of products
