Process Development Associate, Biologics
Job Description SummaryThe Process Development Department is looking for three highly motivated Upstream and Downstream Associates to join the Biologics team to support a major cross-functional program. The Biologics team is responsible for technology transfer of new antibodies and recombinant proteins, while creating capacity and maintaining a large existing portfolio used in STEMCELLs Cell Separation and media products. You will work in a dynamic and collaborative team which deals with multiple competing priorities, steers efficiently through prioritization challenges, and has a learning and growth mindset.
Process Development Associates are responsible for conducting scientific data-driven bioprocess development in a fast-paced environment that leads to efficient, robust and scalable protein production processes and their transfer to manufacturing. In this role you will contribute to the design and execution of unit operations across the full workflow, with participation in high-throughput optimization, scale-up activities to bench and pilot scale ahead of technology transfer to Manufacturing teams. If you have experience in antibody bioprocess development, relish solving complex problems, enjoy collaborative relationships across departments, and are looking for opportunities for growth in a fast paced environment, this is the team for you!
Duties and Responsibilities
Contribute towards development, optimization and implementation of scalable Upstream or Downstream protein (e.g. monoclonal antibodies, fusion proteins) production processes with supervision to meet project timelines.
Execute process development studies through high throughput screening methodologies and scale-up to bench and pilot scale operations.
Perform protein analytical techniques (e.g. SDS-PAGE, ELISA).
Organize and interpret results, presenting to the team at data meetings.
Contribute to the Technology Transfer of developed processes to manufacturing production facilities.
Support manufacturing operations by reviewing documents and/or using technical expertise to ensure successful manufacturing activities.
