Job Description Summary

If you have strong leadership experience within a high-volume procurement environment along with a passion for continuous improvement this role could be the perfect next step for your career!As a Purchasing Manager you will be responsible for executing the strategic plan for a core procurement function through the delivery of annual team goals and KPI targets. You will lead the strategic global procurement of goods and services to meet STEMCELL’s business requirements while balancing costs and business risk.
This is an 18 month fixed term position with possible extension or conversion to a permanent role.
Job Description
Represent Procurement in cross-functional meetings and projects as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert for Procurement activities; ensure cross-functional stakeholder engagement in Procurement activities by facilitating a culture of collaboration and responsiveness
Manage a team of individual contributors with professional/technical skills; provide coaching, mentorship, and support with development opportunities to team members
Responsible for establishing and leading the achievement of annual goals and KPIs for their team
Solve problems and remove roadblocks to support execution through collaboration with other groups and in-depth analysis that requires conceptual thinking
Identifies potential improvements and modifies methods and processes
May interact with industry professionals, attend conferences and seminars to represent STEMCELL
Knowledge and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of relevant experience or Master's degree with 8+ years experience or PHD with 5+ years of experience
Experience and knowledge in leading teams and tactical processes with ability to direct, mentor, and coach teams effectively
Able to seek feedback, improve self-awareness, and cultivate a foundation for self-accountability over self-improvement and leadership development
Ability to communicate effectively through using multiple mediums for communication, providing updates to teams, reporting up to management, effectively delivering presentations, reporting and metrics
SME in the procurement cycle, including, sales, operations, contract negotiations, supply chain, manufacturing, finance, receiving, or requester
