Director, Global Facilities Asset Management
Job Description Summary
STEMCELL is looking for a leader to oversee global facilities and ensure that we have the right infrastructure to support a best-in-class GMP compliant laboratory and manufacturing space. You will work with senior management, and in particular the manufacturing, lab, distribution, and research and development leaders to understand and set expectations on building systems and equipment reliability, and develop plans for the expansion and standardization of the equipment portfolio. They design, develop, and manage teams responsible for operating building systems, maintaining equipment, interfacing with equipment vendors and with engineering partners responsible for the design and redesign of building systems. The role is also responsible for identifying and planning resources required in new facility development projects, and facility improvement projects. As the leading Subject Matter Expert, you will be responsible for the implementation of appropriate reliability and maintenance standards, and the digital transformation of business processes that their teams are responsible for.Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
Set 5-year goals for the improvements to the reliability of the building systems and equipment portfolio
Develop and validate with senior management, strategies and plans for achieving 5-year goals
Set annual goals and develop actionable plans for achieving these goals
Develop and manage teams responsible for building systems, equipment, planning and scheduling of maintenance activities.
Develop and report on metrics and key performance indicators relevant for the global asset portfolio
Identify changes to business processes required to achieve metric and KPI improvements
Performs Global Industry Benchmarking of Asset Management and Reliability trends, methods, and KPI’s
Promote continuous improvement with effective processes and training to increase productivity and reduce costs
Lead, manage, coach, develop and evaluate direct reports through regular one-on-one and team meetings; set team goals, conduct performance reviews; make compensation recommendations for direct reports
Knowledge and Qualifications
Bachelors degree
Professional Engineer designation
Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or Facilities and Asset Management Association (FAMA)
15+ years of senior level experience in facilities management, in biotechnology, and/or pharmaceutical industry
Experience managing a portfolio of facilities with relatively high operating thresholds is an asset
Experience managing new developments and facilities renovations is an asset
Technical operations and facilities management industry best practices
