Customer Master Data Specialist

Job Description Summary

The Customer Master Data Specialist position reports to the Manager, Master Data Management and is responsible for maintaining sales master data objects while adhering to standards and governance to ensure sales data is compliant with defined information, policies, and quality requirements as defined by the data owner in conjunction with the data management organization across all STEMCELL systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support & implement master data management methodologies that support STEMCELL’s business initiatives, particularly around the customer master data.

  • Serves as a subject matter expert associated with content, processes & procedures associated with SAP SD: Customer Master, Material Master, Sales Orders, Deliveries, Pricing, Billing, Credit Management, etc.

  • Execute changes to SAP Customer Master Data as approved by the business. Perform mass updates as required.

  • Provide day to day management and gate-keeping of Customer Master Data entity in STEMCELL’s Master Data Management system. Responds to business requirement, change and adapting master data accordingly based on the needs of the business.

  • Develop and identify standardized reporting methods, support and gather periodic KPIs for governance reporting.

  • Participate in projects and initiatives across multiple functional areas and regions in continuous improvement of sales data management

  • Provide first-level support ensuring high level quality service delivery. Work and collaborate with business units and process experts to resolve master data issues.

  • Ensure high level data quality, compliance and consistency of master data for stakeholders satisfaction.

  • Support the business with required procedures, submit incidents and change requests when needed

  • Work with IT on any configuration change affecting SAP SD module to meet business requirements, including connection points with SAP EWM, FICO, MM and other modules, consuming systems and implementation of SAP best practices

  • Understand non-SAP business systems and their interaction with SAP. Assist in the management of those systems as part of a Sales Systems management portfolio

  • Identify opportunities to enhance existing business operations using new SAP functions or SAP strategic partner solutions as a replacement of legacy systems and manual effort

  • Ability to train and educate end users

  • Ensure compliance with internal data policies and external regulatory requirements

  • Material master and/or vendor master data knowledge is a plus

  • Working knowledge in procure to pay processes is a plus


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience in Master Data Management

  • Master level functional depth of  data in SAP HANA S/4

  • Experience working with enterprise platforms such as SFDC, and SQL Server strongly preferred

  • S/4 data architecture and data modeling experience

  • Data cleansing implementation experience

  • Experience defining systems strategy, developing systems requirements, designing and prototyping, testing, training, defining support procedures and implementing practical business solutions under multiple deadlines

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal/written communication, organization and customer service skills

  • Able to efficiently prioritize work and timely inform stakeholders on the progress

  • Analytically minded and methodical problem solver

  • Good understanding of data relationships

  • A good team player, flexible, shares knowledge, helps others, collaborates well within and outside the team
