Job Description Summary

The European Market Development Manager, Immunology contributes to STEMCELL’s goal of helping scientists advance science by representing the voice of the market and customer values, providing regional market-driven insights at all stages of the product life cycle. The role is responsible for the regional, commercial success of a group of products and/or product lines. With input from the global Product Management team, the European Market Development Manager, Immunology supports the regional implementation and execution of product management activities and provides regional input on effective commercialization strategies.

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Share regional market intelligence with Product Managers, providing input into global and regional product or portfolio strategies.

  • Maintains in-depth understanding of relevant research field(s), including awareness of key opinion leaders and key institutions; establishes relationships with regional key opinion leaders and potential commercial business partners in order to facilitate product development and market analysis, including identifying in-licensing, collaboration and funding opportunities.

  • Provides recommendations to Product Managers for the five-to-ten year product development plan through analysis of the regional market(s), the competitive landscape and customer needs.

  • Identifies cutting-edge and disruptive technologies emerging in regional markets and proposes changes to product strategic planning to leverage new market opportunities and/or combat competitive threats.

  • Working with Product Managers, leverages in-depth and up-to-date understanding of relevant research field and/or industry to perform gap analysis on customer workflows and makes recommendations to expand product lines to support workflow.


  • MSc or PhD in cell biology or a related field or 3+ years experience in the biotech or pharma industry.

  • Relevant product management experience is preferred.

  • Demonstrated business and financial acumen.

  • Strong ability in data manipulation, interpretation and presentation skills.

  • Exceptional communication skills.
