Job Description
Duties & Responsibilities
Manage the Education laboratory by overseeing the operations of various types of training activities with the supervision of the Program Manager, Scientific Support, Training
Culture and maintain cells, perform general laboratory and molecular biology techniques. Keep accurate and detailed records of lab procedures and results
Coordinate and plan the logistics for internal and external Scientific Support training programs
Maintain and review Scientific Support Training Operation guidelines and processes to ensure they accurately reflect and support our business needs
May contribute to training execution teaching lab techniques to internal and external trainees
Help maintain lab supplies and facilitate equipment operations to ensure a safe and functional lab environment for researchers across the departments
Assist with the administration of the Scientific Support training programs and other departmental projects with report generation, registration and instructional material preparation, meeting coordination, minute-taking, and other administrative tasks.
Coordinate the upload of educational content to the Learning Management System
Knowledge and Qualifications
Bachelor’s with 6+ years of relevant lab experience, Masters + 3 years of lab experience, or Ph.D. degree in life sciences with little to no work experience, with previous project management experience is an asset
Cell culture, microscopy and lab sterile techniques skills are necessary
Strong knowledge of laboratory health and safety protocols as well as laboratory best practices.
Ability to work independently and function in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, have a positive and enthusiastic attitude, and be receptive to feedback and coaching
Excellent communication and organizational skills are required
Critical thinking, attention to details, ability and drive to solve practical problems
Experience and knowledge with common administrative functions, such as correspondence writing, minute taking and meeting coordination is an asset
Knowledge of Google Suite with the ability and interest to learn new platforms, when required
Data analysis skills, and experience with Tableau, Salesforce, and Google Analytics is an asset
Experience with Learning Management System (LMS) design is an asset
