Recruitment Fraud Alert

STEMCELL Technologies has become aware of a scam wherein somebody is offering remote job opportunities, posing as STEMCELL Hiring Management during interviews, then providing fraudulent employee agreements and checks. We have reported this criminal activity to the appropriate authorities and our online security team is working hard to ensure that it is dealt with. Please be advised that all legitimate employment opportunities at STEMCELL, including any jobs advertised on third party sites such as Glassdoor, Indeed, LinkedIn, or other local job boards will also be posted at jobs.stemcell.com, and any employment applications must be submitted directly to STEMCELL Technologies through that site. Job Description Summary

As a Software Engineer in the Instrumentation team, you will use emerging technologies to develop and implement software and hardware solutions for our laboratory instruments. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a creative, multidisciplinary team and build your skills across a range of areas within software, product development and embedded systems development.

Job Description

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and test new software components for STEMCELL’s laboratory automation instruments and software products

  • Contribute to software development and testing activities, risk management, and technical documentation according to company quality standards, including applicable regulatory and security compliance

  • Support continuous improvement through reviews of product architecture, design and technology, implementation, and lifecycle management factors including troubleshooting, upgrades, roll-outs, backwards compatibility and obsolescence

  • Partner with other technology teams to develop and improve design and operating best-practices

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering or a related field with a minimum of 1-2 years of experience

  • Intermediate level code writing skills (e.g. C#, VisualStudio) and experience with professional code repositories (e.g. GitHub)

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) with a strong attention to detail

  • Experience with image acquisition, image processing, and/or modern web technologies (e.g. React, TypeScript, Go) is an asset

  • Experience with laboratory liquid handling robots (e.g. Hamilton Company, Tecan) would be an asset
